I have been experimenting with my backgrounds... rather than leaving them a solid color. I think this one adds a lot to my snake art. Two different shades of yellow with spots in the opposite colors, and a magenta overwash on the bottom really changed the vibrancy of this painting.

Snakes are so fun to paint with the ability to bend their bodies in fun curves. "Serpentine" is my largest snake to date... 18"x24"... painted on heavy watercolor paper.
