When I am painting, I usually have 2-3 going at a time. When I finish up for the day, I take all of the leftover paint and start a new painting... smearing it all over a clean piece of paper. That happened here. I had also been doing a lot of spraying of wet paint, letting it run off the paper onto my worktable. I thought I should reuse that paint as well, no waste... so I took this start of a painting and placed it face down on my worktable and pressed down, smearing it this way and that way. I loved the effect! The rest of the painting went so simply... no angst :)
